Origin Story
Established in 1979
Formerly known as Palm Beach Crime Watch, the community safety organization with a decades-long legacy, has been renamed “Safeguard Palm Beach.” Under its new moniker, Safeguard Palm Beach has an expanded scope of outreach initiatives and services, developed in partnership with both the Palm Beach Police and Fire Rescue Departments.
About Safeguard Palm Beach
Since its inception in 1979, Palm Beach Crime Watch consistently fostered safety within the community through citizen-partnered crime prevention, risk reduction, awareness raising, and education and emergency preparedness programs, offered in conjunction with the Palm Beach Police Department.
In a move that marked a new era in community safety initiatives, and to expand its impact by including advanced, health-focused public safety service offerings, in 2023, the Palm Beach Police & Fire Foundation announced the renaming of its Palm Beach Crime Watch division to Safeguard Palm Beach.
Palm Beach Police & Fire Foundation made a strategic decision to incorporate the Palm Beach Fire-Rescue Department as a key collaborator in recognition of the evolving needs of the residents and community. By doing so, Safeguard Palm Beach extends its impact by offering more comprehensive health-centered public safety education and services.
The rebranding, which signifies more than a name change, represents a more holistic approach to community safety, and underscores the Foundation’s commitment to ensure the safety, security, health, and overall well-being of every individual within the Palm Beach community.
