Youth Academy

The Youth Academy program offers an array of exciting and immersive experiences designed to educate and inspire young individuals interested in public safety careers. Participants have the unique opportunity to engage in “ride-alongs” in official police and fire vehicles, including the police boat, providing firsthand insight into the daily operations of our first responders.

Educational sessions cover a broad spectrum of topics such as Response to Resistance, Firearms Safety & Use, Drone Unit operations, Crime Scene Investigation, Drug Awareness, Water Rescue, First Aid, CPR, and Social Media Safety. Additionally, participants receive an in-depth tour of the Police Department, try on firefighter gear, use a fire hose, and practice Ocean Rescue techniques.

These hands-on activities are crafted to provide a comprehensive understanding of the skills and responsibilities involved in police and fire services, fostering a sense of respect and appreciation for the dedicated professionals who keep our community safe.
